Once a Fortnite

It’s been one of those weeks! When ‘those weeks’ or ‘those days’ come around we all have our way of relaxing and destressing from the cuts, bruises and mental strain of the working week. Some will enjoy a nice glass of wine or even an ice cold beer to de-stress from those problems, as I do every now and then. However for me and many other young business people, video gaming is the perfect remedy for these problems.

My game of choice is Fortnite. It’s pretty hard to avoid Fortnite due to its news coverage with worldwide sport stars, music artists and actors all diving into the virtual battle royal phenomenon and hanging out with friends. Many a time after work I find myself sat at my games console socializing with friends, sharing laughs and enjoying all the in game content just at the touch of a few buttons.

Don’t get me wrong I like to go out and socialize whether that be at a pub, shops or playing sports to wash away all those work worries, but gaming is probably my go too in terms of methods to unwind. Gaming as a whole gets a bad reputation for causing children to be more violent or aggressive, which I don’t always think is the case. For me I love the social side, the ability to get lost in a virtual world almost like a film and to completely forget about the stress of the working day. But when I step back and think I feel I have also worked and improved on some personal skills which I and you would use in everyday life and the work environment to do our jobs. The increased popularity of gaming throughout the world and business environment shows to me how positive and productive gaming can really be, now where’s my controller…
