Business Central in Darlington continues to expand with the appointment of an operations support assistant.

The business centre, made up of 60 offices, was built in 2014 to house the region’s business talent and has recruited a new member of staff to help deliver its services to business owners.

Daniel Sanderson has been appointed to assist with the day-to-day operations in the building as more firms choose to base their business at the centre. With a high level of occupancy in the building – and the scope to attract more tenants – the role was created to provide further support to business owners and their staff who work there.

Dan brings experience to the newly created role having previously worked as an operations assistant for a sportswear distributor in Durham. With the skills he has acquired, the 23-year-old aims to have a positive impact on business owners and anyone who comes through Business Central’s doors.

“I like dealing with people,” said Dan, “and I share the excitement people have when they move in; it’s a proud moment for a business owner when they get their own office and I want to help them feel comfortable in their new-found business community.

“My role involves assisting with the running of the centre; I’ll help our tenants by setting up their phones and assist with any IT problems they may have as well as set up rooms for business meetings.”

Business Central now has four members of staff on board and Dan has outlined what they hope to achieve.

“We want everyone here to feel like they’re part of a community as soon as they enter the building – we want people to be happy while they work and run their business.” Dan added.

“I’m lucky to work with a very friendly team who have helped me settle in extremely well – it makes my job easier as we continue to build the community here.”

Business Central’s Centre Manager, Vanessa Wood, commented:

“I’m very pleased to welcome Dan here. It’s an exciting time for the area as a whole and he is looking forward to the challenge.

“Providing a customer friendly service is important to us and Dan will help us achieve this.”
